We are less than two weeks away from our departure to India. TWO WEEKS!! Therefore, THIS Sunday, September 27th, is our last Sunday at Ecclesia. To mark the occassion, we will be commissioned by our entire congregation where our friends and family will have an opportunity to pray for us corporately before we head to the other side of the world. In addition, our friends from the Kenya outreach team will be sharing stories of their experiences while in Africa. As Kevin Miller puts it "It's a Sunday not to be missed!" Please join Ecclesia this sunday and send us off in style.
PS Things are really coming together, even if at the last minute! The team is ecstatic to see what God has in store.

india team serves at PATH.
Last Sunday, the India team served together at one of Ecclesia's ministries, PATH Hollywood (people assisting the homeless) in preparation for the same vein of work we will be doing on our trip abroad. The team bonded as we prepared and served the food together, at which point we had the opportunity to sit with the homeless clients, share a meal and engage in conversation. It was a chance for us to see how poverty affects our own community, and use that as a platform for the work we will be doing in India. It was good night, and the meatballs were amaaaazing!

Exchange for Change 9.20.09

Are you sick of wearing that same pair of jeans that you pick up off the floor day after day? What about that blue shirt? I am SO tired of seeing you in that thing! Well, as fate would have it, Ecclesia's Green Team, along with the help of us, your loving India team, will be hosting the Exchange for Change on September 20th. The event will be held in the Narthex after church that day until 3pm. Just bring $20.00 (all of which will be donated to both the Green team and the India team) and a bag of clothes to share with others. Then you can shop that generous heart of yours away. Think about it--a whole closet full of clothes for twenty bucks, and all of the proceeds go to worthy causes! Sounds like a no brainer to me. See you there!

meet the team.
So, you may be wondering, “Who in the world are these silly people going to India?” I sure was. And then I met them and now I am more excited than ever about the possibilities on the horizon! How about you get excited too and meet our team!

Rod Hassler (team leader)
I grew up in Minneapolis, MN and lived in Colorado and Florida before moving out to Los Angeles about 5 years ago to work in cinematography. I used to think Christians that went on global outreach trips were a little nutty, and now I'm leading one! (I still haven't decided if I was wrong.) God opened my eyes to the injustices in India, and I'm excited to do what I can for the beautiful people there.

Andrew Bruntel
Andrew grew up in rural south central Pennsylvania and moved to L.A. after graduating from Maryland Institute College of Art. Since coming to L.A. he's kept busy creating art in various forms as well as directing numerous short film and music video projects. He's currently at work writing longer form projects and on a new children's program for PBS. This will be his second trip to India, his first was in March of this year.

Stephen Buchanan
Hey I am stephen buchanan and I like Mexican food and want to go to India. Please pray for our hearts to be open to Gods leading. And pray that I find Mexican food in india. Thanks, steve

Jessica Burton
Hi my name is Jessica, I am originally from Detroit Michigan but have lived in LA for almost four years. I have a great passion and love for people which was my main motivation for going to India. I am concerned about global human rights. I am curious to learn about and understand life from other peoples perspective. I also desire to be a servant and to give and be helpful. My overall hope is for people to experience transformation in mind, body, and spirit and to live a life of freedom.

Greyson Chadwick
Hey! My name is Greyson and I was born and raised in “Atlanta” Georgia- really a suburb just outside. Lived there all of my life until I moved to Los Angeles two years ago – still feels like yesterday- to further my acting career. I stumbled upon Ecclesia and found a home there! And now I am headed to India. Not exactly sure what is in store for us there but I rest in the comfort of God’s wisdom and His power! This is my first trip out of the country, my first passport and we leave on my birthday!! Yay for 27hour flight.

Kevin Miller
I've lived in Hollywood for five years and call it home. As graduate of San Jose State University I've had a website since the time when java only meant coffee. In preparation for our trip to India I'm learning Hindi. Or at least trying to. I have resisted going on a "mission trip" all my life. But then God wooed me and now I'm more excited to go to India than I am for Christmas.

Matthew Schulert
Born and raised in Grand Ledge, Michigan and went to school for photography in Rochester New York. I'm in LA working in the fashion photo industry, with hopes to continue shooting food and get back into performing again. God just really put India on my heart and I want to be able to make a difference in the lives of the oppressed. I can already see the changes in my life, and can't wait to see the changes in theirs.

Sara Sposito
I am soooo excited to be a part of this team! I have been living in Los Angeles for 5 years, attending Ecclesia for 1.5. I grad
uated from UCLA with an English degree in 2006 and have been working on the same feature length screenplay ever since. One of these days it will be done! Just you wait and see!! Other than writing, my life is filled with improv, working with the homeless (full time!) and spending time in community with my wonderful friends. Praise God for this opportunity.

Braden Spotts
My name is Braden and I grew up in Portland Oregon, went to college in Vancouver, BC, and have lived here in LA for 3 years now. I moved here for a retail job but have had the good fortune to stay here to work in the film and television industry. God has done some amazing things for me through Ecclesia in the last 3 years and I'm excited to have the chance to follow His calling to India.

Jennifer Tu
Born in hong kong, raised in los angeles. i have a passion for travel, love of photography, and fascination with india. i hope to deepen my relationship with the Lord on this journey. and oh, i am also an elementary teacher.
